Project outline
3 years, 12 water districs: Together with the local water suppliers, the Panterito Foundation and other partners, a tip: tap eV conveys the benefits of drinking water from the tap. Through information and educational work, advice for companies, creation of drinking places, Presswork and enjoying the water.
Aims
From Berlin to Germany
The model for the water districts is based on the Berlin Mariannenkiez. For almost 10 years a tip: tap eV has been developing a model water district here. The experience of the association is that many people still lack the knowledge about the brilliant quality of our tap water and the motivation to change. The unavailability of free drinking water in public places also complicates a habitual tap water consumption.
Project activities
- Laboratory analysers are trained to ensure safety
- Educational services for day-care centres, welcome classes and extra-curricular learning venues are offered
- Conversational sessions in offies are conducted to promote the change from bottled water to tap water
- Public potable water places are created to increase visibility
- Through local actions such as information booths, lectures, events and targeted public relations, tap water will have a high presence in people’s everyday lives in order to support the behavioural change on an personal level
- The human right to clean drinking water is being strengthened and people on low income will be relieved by lower costs
