A tree for every paperless booking of an event team. Various companies from the event staff sector have joined forces to integrate long-term climate protection measures into their everyday work. Panterito accompanies the implementation of the plantings.
The transition to a sustainable business is one of the major challenges posed to companies by the climate crisis. The focus on a future-oriented set of values includes, among many other things, the avoidance of greenhouse gas emissions in ongoing business operations.
An important factor here is the switch to resource-saving digital processes. For every paperless booking of their service, the now 11 participating companies donate a tree. In this way, they increase the incentive for their customers to switch from the usual paper processing to the digital way and anchor long-term climate protection measures in their corporate processes.
Panterito is responsible for the selection of the planting projects. To ensure that they are successful in the long term, we choose projects with an economic approach. After all, the difficulty is usually not in getting a seedling into the ground, but in ensuring that it grows. The more interest there is in it thriving, the more likely it is that this is successful.
Panterito accompanies the implementation: we propose projects, manage communication with the project partners, ensure reporting and provide materials for communication.
Trees donated
Large areas of the Indonesian rainforest have been cleared for agricultural use but are now uncultivated because the soil rapidly loses its fertility. The plantation of new forests enriches the poor soil, offers a source of income through timber yield and intercrops and thus reverses the effects of deforestation.
The local scout networks organised the planting of 3,000 trees in schools in Malawi, Zambia and South Africa. Scouts and students take care of the planting and maintenance of the trees. This enables the transfer of practical knowledge regarding environmental concerns, planting and care as well as the use of fruit, fruit trees being predominent.
The resource demand for wood of the growing population is currently much greater than can be sustainably cultivated or extracted. For this reason, the forest in Malawi has been steadily disappearing for decades. Smallholders receive training and basic equipment to grow timber themselves. For firewood, furniture wood and fruit harvests.
